Happy Easter...HE LIVES

Happy Easter! HE IS RISEN!
Matthew 28:5-10
5And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. 6He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. 7And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you. 8And they departed quickly from the sepulcher with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. 9And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. 10Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me.

Hallelujah, the grave is empty and my Saviour lives! Praise God, the grave could not hold him down. He is my best friend. He is always there in the middle of my trials and He makes himself known. All I do is call upon him and He's there. Its also at that moment when I don't have the strength or the words because I'm a child of the King, He shows up anyway.

One of my favorite gospel songs is "Because HE LIVES"

God sent his son
They called him Jesus
He came to love
Heal and forgive
He lived and died
To buy my pardon
An empty grave
Is there to prove
My Savior lives

(Chorus)
Because he lives
I can face tomorrow
Because he lives
All fear is gone
Because I know
He holds the future
And life is worth the living
Just because he lives

(Chorus)

And then one day
I'll cross the river
I'll fight life's final war with pain
And then as death
Gives way to victory
I'll see the lights
Of glory and
I'll know he lives

If you have never accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, please call out to Him. He's waiting to take your heart. Read below at the promises He made.

Romans 3:10 - As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: (We are all sinners)

Romans 3:23 - For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;

Romans 5:8 - But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners,
Christ died for us. (He still loves you despite anything you have ever done)

Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9-10 - That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in
thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (He is ready to forgive you, just repent with your whole heart)

Romans 10:13 - For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. (It’s a Promise from HIM)

Reach out and claim victory over sin and satan's lies. Receive forgiveness and the FREE gift of Salvation!

HE LIVES!!!

Good Friday

Good Friday depicts a very important day in our lives as Christians. Its a sacred reminder of what Jesus did for us. He walked the hill called Calvary bearing our sins. He who knew no sin, became sin, so that you and I might be saved! Good Friday is a day set aside to remind us of the Crucifixion of Christ. The day that He paid our sin debt for us. Jesus said “It is Finished.” (John 19:30) So, today as you go about the day take time to thank him for what he has done for you! Just remember the grave didn't finish it. Three days later, HE LIVES! Happy Good Friday!

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Cold Spring Day Dining

Spring is here and there is no sign of warmer weather this week. As I have posted in my previous winter posts; we have had a very warm winter. Well, now I can officially say, we have had a pretty cold Spring :)... I decided to add a little touch of Spring to my formal dining.  With Easter being this upcoming weekend, I feel like planting flowers and enjoying the mild sunshine.

No Bake Energy Balls

My husband was recently given some scary news from the doctor about his triglycerides. He was advised they are way out of range on the high side. So, he and  I are trying to get healthy and eat better. I have been doing a lot of research on what is good for your body and what's not. I found this recipe online and to my surprise they are really good. My husband and I love to eat them as a snack. These balls are filling and make a great snack to take to the office. Mix all the following together and then refrigerate. Delish!

Honey
Vanilla
Oats
Peanut Butter
Ground Flax Seed
Chocolate Chips

Coffee Filter Wreath

As I sit here on this stormy Saturday in Florida, I decided to work on a project that has been on my to do list. I already had on hand the wreath, ribbon and hot glue gun. The only thing I was lacking were the brown coffee filters. I had seen a wreath like this over on a blog at Fall and thought how I could incorporate it all year round. So, I decided to get busy. The hardest part of this wreath is the repetitiveness of the folds. Below, I have outlined the way that I completed them.

Family Room Makeover (Formal Living)

While thumbing through old pictures on a rainy weekend in Florida, I decided to write a couple of post. This particular one has to do with our family room in the front of our house. This room set vacant (picture below) for a couple of years until my husband and I decided what we wanted to do with it. We tossed thoughts of an office, adding French doors to make it a guest room, however, formal living is what we ended up going with. We wanted a space to sit and read our daily devotions, chat with friends and just relax without a television. So, that's what it turned out to be.

Here is the way is sat for a couple of years... Crazy huh?

*6 Years of Marital Bliss*

Today marks the 6th anniversary for my husband and I. We've had our share of ups and downs, good times and hard times. Yet, through it all the Lord seemed to be the glue that made it possible for us to withstand the temptations and trials that we faced. We went through a very rough spot a couple of months ago. It was a trial that only The Lord is capable of helping you overcome. I felt the Lord's presence in my life more than ever and I'm forever grateful for the mercies and grace he bestows upon us.

Today, in front of family and friends we renewed our vows, our covenant to each other and more importantly to our Lord!

We are the happiest in our journey together than we have ever been. I'm so grateful to have a wonderful husband that I call my best friend. I'm looking forward to 60+ years, right by his side.

Here are a couple of our wedding snapshots from 2007.

And today at our vow renewal ceremony...

out takes at home afterwards...:)

Easter Mantel

I love this time of the year. Love to feel the subtle warmth of the sun, grass and trees turning green, flowers starting to bloom. However, I live in Florida and we have experienced warmer tempertures more than usual the last couple of years. I love cold weather, but have been depressed with the last few winters, on the account we didn't get many freezes, so I'm over it this year and moving on to spring. This year I have been so busy with baseball, life, and a few trials that I have been working through, so I kept my easter decor to a minimum.

I added to my mantel this spring a willow tree figurine. This man and woman represent "Promise". My husband and I purchased this as a token of our promises to each other. So, I plan on incorporting this going forward into all my mantel decorations no matter what the occasion.
