Mama's Fall Cottage

I wanted to share with you a little decor from my mom's home. Walking into her home says "WELCOME with LOVE"

I didn't grow up in this home as she moved into this cottage style home when I was married with children:) However, it still feels like home to me!

My mother is very crafty with her tools. She made this mantel out of a water bed head board at the beginning of the year. She uses this mantel to display her seasonal decor!

My camera battery went dead, so I will bring you more of her home once I visit and snap more pictures.

Simple Mug Project

As fall arrives and I'm decorating and getting the house in order, I've actually started on a couple of projects for Christmas! I know what you're thinking, Fall hasn't officially arrived. However, the air is starting to get that clean brisk feeling.

I was in Goodwill a while back and picked up a couple of mugs. I was looking for some that I could use for my Christmas hot cocoa bar. I wanted some that were a little unique. I knew if I couldn't find exactly what I wanted, I'd find something to make my own.

Here is what I did. I purchased these two white stacking mugs for .50 each.

I went to Michael's and found the stencil for mugs. They were 40% this week, but you can you a coupon if not. The craft paint was on sale also. I purchased gun metal black.

I then used a black sharpie to color on my adhesive letters. They craft paint didn't seem to stick well.

They have a couple of glitches, but overall I think they turned out pretty good. I like a little flaw in my crafts, lets people know it's "homemade" :)
I plan on using these on my hot chocolate bar this year for Christmas. Pictures to come.

My ole playhouse

Taking a trip down memory lane. My brother just recently got married in the town we grew up in (Hilliard, Fl), and while heading out to decorate for his occasion, my mother and I took a trip down memory lane. When my mom and dad divorced, I was nine and my brother was five, we moved to Hillard. (they live beside each other currently and are the best of friends) We headed out to the "farm" in which my papa raised our family on. We had 180 acres of ponds, pastures and pins. He raised cows, chickens, geese, rabbits, horses, pigs and everything else you think of when you hear the word farm.

My dad had built me a playhouse when I was 3 years old. He allowed my mother to move it away with us. As we were driving around and reminiscing about our life on the farm we finally came to the spot in which our home use to sit. Our home is no longer there, but guess what still was? My old playhouse. I was so excited to see it. I took some pictures with my cell phone.

I was so exited to see it still standing there and have so many wonderful memories of this place.
